NELSON WINS PEGLEY CUP

Deerstalker Teams At Westport

(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, February 16. The Nelson A team won the Pegley Cup rifle shooting competition for the Seddon Shield deerstalker teams on the Pakahi range near Westport on Saturday. It scored 608 points to 594 by Buller A, and 580 by Karamea. Marlborough A was in fourth place with 548 points, and West Coast fifth, with 535. In the match between B grade teams for the Daily rosebowl, Buller scored 565, to beat Nelson. 498.

The Hood-Delany Cup for the top marksman in the A grade went to R. Tantrum, of Nelson, with 88 points, and R. Beveridge took the Curtis Memorial Cup in the B section, with 88 points. Colonel D. J. Fountaine was range officer, assisted by Mr J. Todd. . The president of the Buller Deerstalkers’ Association, Mr D. Marr, welcomed the visitors.
