Oxford Has Home Tie

Oxford United, the fourth division "giant killer” of the English Football Association Cup competition, has been drawn at home against Preston North End in the quarterfinal round.
The draw, announced yesterday, for games to be played on February 29, is: West Ham United v. Burnley; Liverpool v. Stoke City or Swansea Town; Manchester United v. Sunderland: Oxford United v. Preston North End. The draw for the quarterfinals of the Scottish F.A. Cup, to be played on March 7, is: Dunfermline Athletic v. Ayr United; Falkirk v. Kilmarnock; Dundee v. Motherwell or Hearts; Rangers v. Celtic.
Tennis Championships. A wish that the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association make an effort to get some overseas’ players for next year’s New Zealand championships in Christchurch was expressed at a management committee meeting of the Canterbury association on Monday evening.
