LANDING RIGHTS

U.S.-N.Z. Talks (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON,, February 17. Aviation landing rights between New Zealand and the United States will be negotiated within the next few days. A New Zealand team comprising the Air Secretary (Mr B. R. Rae), the general manager of T.E.A.L. (Mr F. A. Reeves), T.E.A.L.’s commercial manager, Mr H. M. Denton, and Mr D. F. Toms, an executive officer with the Civil Aviation Administration, will leave for talks in Washington on Thursday. A 1946 agreement regarding New Zealand’s landing rights in Pago Pago (Western Samoa), Honolulu and San Francisco will be updated and additional rights will'be sought for T.E.A.L. at Los Angeles. Mr Rae said tonight formal discussions of air rights had been delayed until the United States had settled a number of domestic issues concerning the . overseas points to which its own airlines would operate. Negotiations . between France and New Zealand concerning the operation by T.E.A.L. of services to Noumea are expected to be satisfactorily concluded this week.
