Kaiapoi, West 0.0. Win t Both senior women’s . games were closely contested when the Canterbury senior championship continued on Saturday. West Old Girls started well but had to hold off a strong late innings rally by Western Suburbs. Kaiapoi failed in its last innings to hold Avon at bay and lost by two runs. Results : Avon 5. Kaiapoi 3. West Old Girls 9,. Western Suburbs 7. Avon v. Kaiapoi Scoring two runs in its last innings, Avon kept Kaiapoi scoreless in its last Innings and won, 5-3. Kaiapoi went into the lead in the fifth Innings by one run but with the pressure on Kaiapoi became unsettled and allowed three runs in Avon’s last two innings. Western Suburbs v. West O.G. Scoring at least one run in every innings West Old Girls were . steadier than Western Suburbs which although batting well was not consistent, and twice did not score in an innings.. Other results:—
Second Grade.—Spreydon 13, Kaiapoi 9; Vanguard 17, Monowai 10: Avon 11, Teachers’ College 8. Third Grade.—West Old Girls B 36, United 9: Avon 15, Kaiapoi 10; Monowai 10, Templeton 9; West Old Girls A 7. Vanguard 0. Under 14 Team The following girls have been selected by Miss I. Jones to represent Canterbury in an under 14 game against West Coast on March 21:— C. Barr (captain), G. Arps (KMapoi), M. Eaton, D. McMillan, R. Phillips, A. Phillips (Monowai), K. Pearce, J.
