MEAT BOARD AWARDS
Two To Study In U.S. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 17. The .New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has announced the award of two Sir Walter Mulholland Fellowships, one to Mr A. O. Taylor, of the plant physiology division, D.5.1.R., Palmerston North, and the other to Mr D. A. Evans, of the staff of Massey University of Manawatu. Mr Taylor proposes to work on a newly discovered plant pigmen —at the University of California. This work will be part of a studies programme oh alternative types of vegetation which it is thought could double or treble the yield of good quality forage from pasture. Mr Evans proposes to read for a doctorate of philosophy at Cornell University, New York. His work will centre around animal breeding improvement. The emphasis will be on . New Zealand sheep farming.
