Snell Expected To Run
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 17. Peter Snell will run against John Davies in Hamilton on Saturday night in the 1000 metres if, as he said yesterday, “training during the week shows that I will run well.” He is rec'' -ering from an attack of dysentery which has affected both his training and his track performances. Snell said: “I feel that I’m in good condition, going on my recent Wanganui mile run (3min 57.75ec) and my training at that time. But I’ve got to get over this illness. I feel that I can run well if I feel right within myself.” ¥ ¥ ¥ Longest The world’s longest recorded ski jump was made at Oberstdorf. West Germany, yesterday by Nilo Zandanel, a 26-year-old Italian. Teunis The United States Lawn Tennis Association has decided to ask for the inclusion of tennis in the Olympic Games to be held in Mexico City in 1968—(N.Z.P.A.-Reu-ter). ¥ ¥ ¥ Beaten Christine Truman, of Britain, was beaten 6-4, 6-8, by Janine Lieffrig, of France, in the women’s singles final of the French indoor tennis championships in Paris yesterday.—(N.Z.P. This information was released yesterday by the national publicity officer (Mr T. E.
