Level Crossings
Sir, —It may be a long time before ail railway crossings are bridged. In the meantime, some kind of research on a sufficient number of accidents might be done. It may be found that accidents due to a stalled motor are rare; also accidents at country crossings with good visibility on either side. Crossings where ■visibility is more or less obscured, remain. Drivers may have crossed dozens or even hundreds of times without seeding a train. This might give rise to a “Can’t happen to me” approach. In thus case a sekeleton sign might be erected with the words, “It Could Be You Next.”—Yours, etc., T. M. SHAW. Westport, Feb. 17, 1964.
