KEEN INTEREST AT AUCTION
Lease Of Land At Motukarara Keen interest was shown when the lease of 131 acres three roods 24 perches at the Motukarara racecourse was offered for sale by public auction yesterday. When the auctioneer (Mr G. B. McCredie) called for an opening bid he was offered £3 an acre yearly. After two bids of 10s, two of ss, knd 25 of 2s ~6d. the lease was sold for £7 12s 6d an acre. The lease is for 10 years. The land, which is part of the Motukarara Domain, was offered on account of the Waihora Domain Board. Houses Sold A brick-veneer bungalow, about two years old, at 11 Crosby street, Shirley, was sold for £3420 at public auction. The auctioneer was Mr N. H. McCrostie. The house, on a section of 33.8 perches, has three bedrooms. livingroom, kitchen, [and bathroom. It was a mortgagees’ sale. Offered on account of Mrs C. Farrant, a house at 115 Domain terrace, Spreydon, was sold for £ 1530. The auctioneer was Mr L. P. Devlin. A wooden building on a section of a quarter of an acre, the house has two bedrooms, lounge, livingroom, and laundry.
