REGISTRATION OF PAINTERS

Proposal To Be Discussed Registration of master painters and sign writers in New Zealand will be considered at the conference of the New Zealand Guild of Master Painters, Decorators, and Signwriters in Nelson on Monday. A Canterbury branch

spokesman said that guld members were very much alive to the fact that their trade was sailing on an uneven keel because incompetent men were encroaching on the skilled painters’ livelihood and deluding the public. The guild hoped that Government legislation would correct the present situation. Canterbury delegates are Messrs A. Chappell (president), R. E. Falkingham (vice-president), S. Falkingham (secretary), D. A. Brown, and H. B. Lee.
