FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A large anti-cyclone east of the country maintains a ridge of high pressure over . New Zealand. A deep depression to south of Tasmania is moving south-eastwards. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh north-easterlies developing, areas of fog and low cloud night and morning, but mainly fine with warm temperatures. Outlook: fine and warmMarlborough and Nelson.—Light variable winds, fine and warm, apart from some cloudy areas night and morning. Outlook: fine and warm. Buller and Westland.—Light winds tending to moderate north-westerlies, cloud increasing; mild temperatures. Outlook: cloudy with occasional rain.
