Sir, —An applicant for a new taxi licence at Lyttelton' stated that there were be-! tween 300 to 400 seamen each > day in Lyttelton. Could he| tell me where? Even allow-! ing for five large overseas; ships, each with a crew of 30, that makes 150, and how often are five large ships in Lyttelton at the one time? — Yours, etc., ' ' TRADE WIND.
