Soda Water
Sir, —Why do the public have to go to the hotels instead of shops to get syphon soda?—Yours, etc., FRED LAWS. February 10, 1964. [The chairman of the Aerated Water Manufacturers’ Association (Mr W. V. Cowles) replied: “There are no import licences available for soda, siphons. Hotels, which , use soda as. a service to customers at. no extra charge, have .to have soda in siphons instead .of bottles. Otherwise the bottles would go flat if left standing for .any period. Manufacturers of siphoned soda supplied hospitals .'for medicinal purposes.”]
