“The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. Jan. 24. Negotiations for the sale of the Invercargill galloper. Royal Bid, to Australia were opened, today. The agent for the Australian buyer returned to Melbourne today and will telephone Royal Bid’s trainer, D. V. Pankhurst, tomorrow with a decision. A four-year-old chestnut horse by Howe from the Christopher Robin mare, My Bid, Royal Bid is owned by Mr L. B. McKenzie. He is a starter in the Adams Handicap tomorrow and will be ridden by R. J. Skelton.
