Strong attacking play by the leading pen-grip player. D. D. M. Stewart, appeared to put University in a winning position against Avonside in the twelfth round of senior table tennis championship. However, Avonside. with solid doubles play, finally drew the match. 14-all. R. J. Scott (Avonside). who has not been a regular member of the side this season, won two of his three singles matches. J. O. Moen (University). who favoured a backattacking game, also scored good victories. Selwyn I continued on its winning way when it easily beat the third-placed side, Wallabies 11, 9-3.
