WAGES PAID IN INDUSTRY
State Survey In February (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 15. The statutory survey of rates of wages actually paid in private industry made each February in accordance with the State Services Act, 1962, will be taken by officers of the Labour Department next month. The results of the survey are used by the State employing authorities to adjust State servants’ pay to ensure that it does not lose fair relativity with rates paid by private industry. The pay of some 110,000 State servants can be affected by the result of the survey. The centres chosen for the survey are Auckland, Wanganui, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill.
