Steadier Tone In Brisker Trading
There was brisker trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday, but the tone was steadier. New Zealand rises and falls were in balance, while overseas issues, again mainly reflecting trends in Australia, were strong. Arnold and Wright made the best gain in the New Zealand section with an ex dividend rise of Is to 19s 6d. Further rises were made by New Zealand Breweries, Firth Concrete and Seabrook Fowlds. Among overseas issues Colonial Sugar Refining gained 2s 9d to 64s 9d. Other gains were made by A.N.Z. Bank, Ansett, E.Z. Industries, G. J. Coles, Woolworths and Mount Isa.
