Tun Lim Yew Hock has been appointed Malaysian High Commissioner to New Zealand in succession to the late Dato Suleiman bin Abdul Rahman. Tun Hock was elected a member of the Singapore Legislative Council in 1951 and from 1956 to 1959 was Chief Minister and Minister for Labour and Welfare—(P.A.) Dr, D. H. Parsons has teen appointed professor of mathematics at Massey University. Dr. Parsons, who is 43, is at present a lecturer in mathematics at the University of Reading—(P.A.) Inspector B. Kelly began duties with the Christchurch police this week on promotion from Greymouth, where he had been offlcer-in-charge of the uniform branch for nearly two years. Before then he was a sergeant in Reefton and was promoted to senior-sergeant and transferred to Greymouth in April, 1962. Senior-sergeant J. Walsh, formerly of Christchurch, has taken over Inspector Kelly’s duties in Greymouth.
