Plan To Revive Irish Tongue
(Special Crspdt. NJJP.AJ LONDON, January 13. A report issued in Dublin by the Commission on the Restoration of the Irish language, appointed in 1958. contains 288 recommendations designed to bring Irish into regular use in state and semistate bodies and at improving the standards of Irish in all spheres of education. The report urges the Irish Government to declare a national plan with annual targets, to establish a language fund and a state-sponsored publications board, and to encourage the increased use of Irish by national and provincial newspapers.
