Simpson New Captain
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) SYDNEY, January 13. The Australian test captain, Bobby Simpson, has been appointed captain of the New South Wales Sheffield Shield team. The New South Wales selectors have followed the lead of the Australian selectors in taking the captaincy from Richie Benaud. Benaud volunteered to stand down a§ Australian and New South Wales captain. Simpson will lead New South Wales into an important Shield match against South Australia starting, at Sydney on Friday. Brian Booth, now the vicecaptain of Australia, has been appointed vice-captain of New South Wales.
