Two Wins To Paremata (N.Z. PrtM Aisociation) WELLINGTON, Jan. 13. Paremata (W. Naylor and J. Bannaatyne) had clear wins in the first two races of the Cornwell Cup yachting series at Muritai today, in which 12 crews are oxnpeting. In the morning Paremata beat Auckland by Imin 20sec, with Wellington nine seconds away third. This afternoon, sailing Titahi Bay’s yacht, the Paremata crew finished 2min ssec ahead of Plimmerton, with Auckland third. Southerly breezes varying from moderate to fresh made for good sailing, but deterred many spectators. In the morning, crews sailed their own yachts, but for the rest of the series they will draw for their craft, although they retain their own sails. Official placings today were:— Morning Race.—Taboo (Paremata) 1, Tantrum (Auckland) 2, Elude (Wellington) 3, Scamper (Tauranga) 4. Afternoon Race.—Fandango (Paremata) 1, Tantrum (Plimmerton) 2, Frith (Auckland) 3, Scamper (Wellington) 4.
