The Canadian Government thinks it desirable for Canada to develop stronger commercial and cultural contact with China and other Communist countries, the External Affairs Minister (Mr Paul Martin) said last night “I feel we must recognise the dangers of attempting to isolate any Communist country whether it be in Asia or elsewhere,” he said. “The trend is in the other direction and we’re becoming more dependent on each other in several fields including trade.”
