EXPECTANT MOTHER

World’s First Spacewoman (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MOSCOW, January 12. Valentina Tereshkova Nikolayev, the world’s first spacewoman, is an expectant mother, informed sources said tonight, United Press International reported. Valentina and the cosmonaut, Andrian Nikolayev, were married on November 3. The birth of the first “space child” is expected during this (northern) summer. Valentina, aged 26, was sent into tandem orbit last year with Valery Bykovsy to become history’s first and only space woman. There is more than sentimental interest in the forthcoming happy event for the Soviet Union’s most popular “’Since "’both parents have been exposed to the hazards of cosmic radiation, biologists will seek .confirmation of their theory that space travel does not have any lasting biological eftect on human beings.
