TRAMPERS MISSING

Air Search In Te Anau Area (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Jan. 12. An aerial search for four trampers missing in rugged country west of Lake Te Anau since Wednesday will be made tomorrow. An aircraft will leave Te Anau at first light tomorrow to search the head of the south-east arm of Middle Fiord, where the trampers were to have been picked up by a boat on Wednesday. A boat has returned to the pick-up area near the Doon river each day but the trampers have not been seen. The police at Te Anau tonight could only identify the leader of the missing party as “Mr Brown, of Auckland.” Snow in the area could have delayed the party. It was understood the party had a good supply of food.
