Chopping Titles
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 12. Two New Zealand chopping championships were decided at Kaiaua, Firth of Thames, on Saturday. Results: — 16in Standing.—L. Bolstad (Rangitikei) 1. B. Lamberton (Tokoroa) 2. P. Wynyard (Barryville) 3. 16in Underhand.—Lamberton 1, Bolstad 2, I. Davidson (Whangarei) 3. Three of the competitors. Bolstad. Lamberton and D. McCartie (Kaiaua), have been named as members .of the seven-man New Zealand team which win compete at the Sydney Easter Show this year.
Joining 8.0.A.C. Lord Normanbrook has accepted an invitation from the Minister of Aviation to join the board of the British Overseas Airways Corporation in June He is former secretary of the Cabinet and head of the Civil Service.—London, Jan. 10.
