Pilgrim Shot
(N.Z. Press Asm.—Copyright) JERUSALEM, Dec. 27. Israeli border police shot and seriously wounded a Christmas pilgrim seven miles west of Jerusalem yesterday. He was Hans Peter Frei, of Switzerland, who was said to have ignored orders to halt and be checked.
The police were lying in ambush near the Jordan border because of a recent alleged increase in the number of infiltrators. Mr Frei was shot as he ran off.
He was admitted to hospital where he was later reported out of danger.
