Record For Marlborough

Last season the Waiview Friesian herd owned by R. C. Woolley and Son, of Tuamarina, recorded the first 5001 b butterfat average for a dairy herd milked in Marlborough. The average credited to the herd was 12,9801 b of milk, a 4.07 per cent test, and 5281 b of fat in 295 days for 34 cows. Pet, one of the 13 grade matrons in the herd, which is a cow of mainly Friesian blood with a small percentage of Jersey, headed the individual yields, and recorded the best figures in the Blenheim group of 17,0401 b of milk, with a 4.4 per cent test and 7461 b of fat in 305 days.
