Six Hurt In Collisions
Two persons suffered head injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Briggs road and Emmett street about 5.40 p.m. yesterday. Miss Barbara Cartwright, of 19 Heyders road, Spencerville, and Mr P. J. Balkenede, of 22 Wesley street, Kaiapoi, were both admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Their condition was later reported to be satisfactory. A man, his wife, and another man, all of the same address, were injured when two cars collided at the corner of Hereford street and Olliviers road about 7.35 p.m. Mr and Mrs Kevin Jarden, of 532 Hereford street, suffered head injuries, and Mr Hugo Wilson suffered abrasions. All were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Mrs M. G. Bugg, of 11 English street, suffered leg injuries when her bicycle and a car collided in Nursery road near Ferry road. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital
