Toothbrush Demand
A Thames motor camp has been bristling with people who all want new toothbrushes. Apparently toothbrushes are easily overlooked in the excitement of the holiday packing. A shop at the camping ground has been rushed by people wanting new brushes, and the joint proprietor of the motor camp sold seven in 10 minutes. She said every year people seemed to exclude different items from their camping equipment Last year the demand had been for tin openers and the year before it had been for toothbrushes again. Warm Weather Fine, warm weather prevailed yesterday in Christchurch, a maximum temperature of 69 degrees being recorded at Christchurch Airport at midday just before a north-easterly wind started. There was a light southerly in the morning, and little cloud. Similar conditions are expected today, with a possibility of a north-westerly wind.
