Eight thousand Rotoruabred rainbow trout on Tuesday pioneered a new development in New Zealand transporttaion.

The yearling fingerlings were released in a Marlborough stream 24 hours after being loaded into a special tank at the Rotorua hatcheries.

They emerged "fighting fit” after a 330-mile road journey and a three hours and a half tri pin the Aramoana to Picton.

Health Department statistics for the three-year period beginning in 1959 show that 1316 out of 3668 children suffering from tetanus died of this disease in Ceylon.— Reuter.
