Sacred Heart College

Although they were now entering upon another stage in their education, it was not the final one because education was a continuous process, the chaplain of Sacred Heart Girls’ College (the Rev. Father Hanrahan) said at the annual prize-giving. The purpose of their education had been to enable them to be active members of the Church and good citizens. Their education had been spiritual, mental and physical. The acquisition of this knowledge was one thing—its application was another, he said. It was their duty to use this knowledge, which had been received through the sacrifices of parents and teachers, in responsible activities to help the church and fellow citizens.
