Display Of Models

More than 600 entries have been received for the school modelling competition which the businessmen’s association is holding in conjunction with Festivity Week. The best entries will be on display in the drill hall with the displays from government departments. The competition has been arranged in 14 classes, which include plasticine, clay, limestone, and wood, as well as meccano models, aircraft, and paintings. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each class. The competition was open to all school children between the Waimakariri river and Kaikoura. An area, 24 feet by eight feet has been allowed in the hall for display of the models. The paintings will be hung on any available wall space.
