Start In City On Tuesday
From next Tuesday Christchurch will have a “Dial a Prayer" service. The director of public relations tor the Seventh - day Adventist Church (Pastor C. O. Lowe) gives this information in a statement issued yesterday. The Christchurch service will initially be operated with three machines, the recorded prayer taking 65 seconds to play. A different prayer will be used each day. In each city where the scheme has been put into operation the voice is that of a Seventh-day Adventist Church leader. In Christchurch it will be that of Pastor H. W. Hollingsworth, president of the South New Zealand Conference. The Christchurch number will be 32-989.
The scheme was started in Sydney by the Seventh-day Adventist Church slightly more than two years ago. and more than Im. calls have been made. The greatest number in any one day was 2826.
