Electronics For Taxes

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Dec. 11

Electronic data processing for recording the tax deduction payments received from employers will be introduced by the Inland Revenue Department in the New Year.

Records in future will be centralised in Wellington with the use of the Raiways Department computer and kept on magnetic tape. To facilitate the new system, employers are receiving monthly pay-in slips bound in booklets. The slips will be printed with the employers’ name and number and an employer must use only his own booklet.
