LIQUOR AT CRICKET
Park Caterer’s
Plans
drinking conditions 1 would be made as pleasant as possible in the two bars which would be in use during the three Plunket Shield matches at Lancaster Park this season, said Mr D. Woodham. proprietor of Modemi Age Caterers, the firm which has applied for a booth ’ licence tor the cricket 1 matches at the park. Mr Woodham said yesterday that he had not received advice that his application had been approved, but he understood that the licence ; was issued automatically if . the bars met with the Health Deoartment’s requirements. The bars probably would not be opened until 11 a.m and would close at 6 p.m., , said Mr Woodham. One bar would be underneath No. 1 ' stand and the other in a marquee behind the scoreboard. “Five ounce and I seven ounce beers will be served—none of this four ounces for fid—and there will ' be a table service providing sandwiches and snacks." Mr Woodham said that the venture was experimental, and if it was successful liquor 1 would be served at other I matches next season. However, it would certainly be ' served during the match be--1 tween South Africa and CanI terbury in March.
