G. D. Moss In Form

Formerly the leading tennis player in Canterbury, G. D. Moss, who transferred to Auckland at the end of the 1961-62 season, has been showing some of the form which enabled him to win many tournaments in Christchurch.

Playing for Eden-Epsom against Parnell, last Saturday, Moss lost the first set, 3-6. against the national champion, L. A. Gerrard, but won the next set, 6-5. Then, after many hardhitting exchanges, Garrard won the third set, 9-7, but he had to produce his best. Always full of energy, Moss has a reputation for upsetting form. He beat the tliird-seeded P. G. Nicholls in the third round of the national championships in 1961 and the second-seeded J. E. Robson, 1962. He was ranked tenth in New Zealand last year.
