NEW AWARD FOR RABBITERS
Allowances, Wages Increased Where a worker provides ferrets he Is to be paid Is 6d a week a ferret, according to a clause in the New Zealand Rabbit Destruction Workers’ award just issued by the Court of Arbitration. The allowance was previously Is 2d a ferret a week. The allowance tor a gun has been increased by 2s a month. Where a worker is required to supply his own dogs and their food he will now receive an allowance of 5s a dog a week, an increase of Is. Increases in wages under the award are £24 a year for inspectors, 8s 6d a week for rabbiters and camp cooks, and 2V»d an. hour for casual workers. Increases for youths range from 5s 9d a week to 7s 3d a week. Inspectors Who receive £lOOO or more a year are exempt from the award. The award contains an unqualified preference clause. The provisions governing wages came into force on November 17 and the rest of the award on November 27.
