FLIGHT FOR HURT GIRL
Treatment In N.Z. Needed (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. A mercy flight to save the life of a 10-year-old Raratongan girl was made tonight by an R.N.Z.A.F Hastings aircraft. Air Force headquarters in Wellington stated The plane left Whenuapai airport at 9 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Raratonga at 9 a.m. tomorrow. The girl, Rima Ua, is seriously ill after suffering multiple fractures in a fall. The Hastings is expected to arrive back at Auckland at 5 p.m. tomorrow. Rima will be admitted to Auckland Hospital for specialist treatment
Fire Damages Truck.— Slight damage was done when a City Council truck caught fire in the council's Lyttelton street yard yesterday. A fire engine from the Sydenham station was called at 11.13 a.m.
