Obituary MISS C. K. TENNENT
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Nov. 20.
One of Greymouth's bestknown women, Mias Christina Kerr Tennent, was found dead in a bedroom of her home at 69 Cowper street, this morning. She is a sister of the Minister of Education. Miss Tennent, who had been on the staff of the Greymouth Borough Council for 25 years, was to have retired at the end of this year. Before taking up her position with the council, she was secretary for the firm of Stratford and Blair. Miss Tennent was secretary of the campaign committee of the Westland branch of the National Party, a member and auditor of the Greymouth Ladies’ Golf Club and secretary of the Greymouth Philharmonic Society and the Greymouth Ladies’ Musical Society. She was also a member ot the choir of St. John’s Presbyterian Church.
Miss Tennent was a daughter of the late Mr D. Tennent, a pioneer of the sawmilling industry on the West Coast. Apart from her brother, she is survived by one sister. Mrs H. Hooper, of Greymouth.
