Child Fatally Burned

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N.. Nov. 20. A child recei ’ed fatal burns when a mattress caught fire in a farmhouse at Bainesse today. He was: Ross Leighton Cooper, aged 11 months, fourth child of Mr and Mrs J. A. Cooper. When his mother returned to the house at 8.30 a.m.. after assisting with the milking. she found the room full of smoke. She rushed the child to a neighbour a quarter of a mile away, and Christine McEwan. aged 12. ran back to the house to rescue another child.
