CHOIR’S TRIP CANCELLED

Not Enough Money The Royal Christchurch Musical Society has cancelled its choir's planned trip to take part in the Adelaide Festival of the Arts in March. Mr L. F. de Berry, the society’s secretary, said yesterday that the Adelaide Festival organisers were not able to pursue the arrangements made wrtli the choir because of their other financial commitments. Mr de Berry said the amount needed to send the choir to Adelaide had proved too much. Last time the choir went to Adelaide it had received a fee of £A3OOO from the festival committee and the South Australian Government, but this could not be guaranteed this time.
