HOSPITAL LADY VISITORS
Aid Given To Patients Patients leaving hospital had been enabled to spend periods ait convalescent homes, and material assistance had been given to a number of individual patients, said the report of the Hospital Lady Visitors' Association, which will be presented at the annual meeting next week. The association had been well supported, and thanks were extended to all who had helped or contributed to its work. Many articles had been made by the sewing circle, and the knitting circle at "Holly Lea.” There were 2650 books in the Christchurch Hospital library, and 1563 in the Princess Margaret Hospital library, and the library service at Burwood hospital was running smoothly, said the report. Association distributors helped patients choose books and magazines. The sum of £5O had been allocated for Christmas presents for the Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals, and these were now being bought, said the report. The Adeline Turner Rest Cottage, at Sumner, which had been regularly used during the summer, was almost seif-supporting because of donations received. Paintin; and other improvements hac been carried out.
