Gentry Back In Work

“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, November 20. Auckland trotting enthusiasts hope to see their former idol. Gentry, in action again in the near future. Providing the former northern champion strikes form Quickly he will contest the £5lOO Auckland Cup on December 27. After several set-backs, the Dillon Hall—Scottish Lady horse, now a 10-yeer-old, won the two major races at Epsom last March. Hiis trainer. P. Stewart, and owner, Mr H. S. Barry, believe Gentry is quite sound again and off 36 yards in the cup, he must have a good chance.

Driver Fined

After the Allan Matson Handicap at Addington last night an objection was lodged against third place being awarded to Robin Dundee, on the grounds of interference to Oreti, which in turn interfered with Vanderford about one furlong and a half from the finish. It was decided to let the judge's placings stand. R. M. Cameron, the driver of Robin Dundee, was fined £2O for careless driving. D. G. Jones, the driver of Cheta in the Haywood Handicap, was fined £lO for undue use of the whip. After the New Zealand Trotting Free-For-All, an objection was lodged against third placing being awarded to Pohutufcawa, on the grounds of galloping. It was found that Pohutukawa galloped for about a furlong before hitting his correct gait. He was disqualified from the race. Our Jimmy was promoted to third and Flaming Way and Pouipette, which deadheated, to fourth.
