Any dish with eggs added is lighter, tastier, more nourishing and easy to prepare. The time of good cheer is nearly here, so be liberal with eggs in your Christmas baking. Pastries, cakes and puddings—the more eggs the tastier. Start baking today! DELICIOUS CHRISTMAS CAKE. Recipe Place cake in a cold oven. Ingredients: 8 eggs, 1 lb. butter, 1 lb. sugar, 5 to 6 lbs. mixed fruit, U lbs. flour, essences. Method: Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating well. Mix together fruit and flour, adding gradually, beating well. Add essences (lemon, vanilla, brandy, rum, etc.). Bake in a tin 8 inches across. Line tin base and sides with 6 thicknesses of greased paper. .VOIP light the oven. Gas regulo 1, electric oven bottom element only to low. Place the cake straight into the oven and do not open the door for four hours. Bake approximately 6 to 7 hours. You will find that the electric oven gradually rises to about 300 degrees.
