COLLISION WITH CAR

Traffic Officer Injured A City Corneil traffic officer, Mr J. E. Matthews, of 410 Bower avenue, suffered head and arm injuries when his motor-cycle and a car collided at the corner of Armagh and Colombo streets last night. Mr Matthews was taken to the Christchurch Hospital by ambulance. He was treated in the 'orthopaedic department and later admitted to a ward. The accident happened about 11 p.m. The motorcycle was extensively damage dand taken away on a breakdown truck. The car was damaged on one side. The driver of the car was the Town Clerk (Mr C. S. Bowie). Traffic Officer Matthews was preceding an ambulance when the collision occurred.
