POLO HERE AGAIN
First Of Three Matches With the result in doubt until the last minutes, the polo match in the show ring was one of the most exciting etents of the day Hawke's Bay fought hard to overtake the lead Waikato held for most of the match, the game ending in a 7-aIJ draw. Three of the players were new to the ground, and it is expected that the standard and pace of today s and tomorrow’s matches will be even better and faster. It was a remarkably good game on a slow ground. If no rain falls between now’ and Friday, the ground will be faster, and excellent polo should result. The two teams competing at the show are among the best in the country. However, in yesterday's match. Waikato was the slightly better team, and its hitting was better directed than Hawke’s Bay. T. Kay (Waikato) played an excellent game, scoring two goals. Four of his team's goals were scored by A. Kay, and the other by J. Kay. J. Chambers was perhaps the best of the Hawke's Bayteam, playing very well and scoring three goals. J. Mackenzie scored another and S Mackenzie another, while two scores were very indefinite. The teams are playing with three men instead of the normal four. Mr A. Stead, of Hastings, was the umpire.
