Sir Arthur Sims and Lady Sims arrived in Auckland in the Orsova yesterday.— (P.A.) The secretary of the Victorian branch of the Building Workers’ Industrial Union of Australia (Mr J. Chandler) is visiting Christchurch as a guest of the New Zealand Carpenters’ Union. He is staying in Christchurch for about 10 days, and will visit Wellington later. Mr R. C. F. Savory, of Auckland, has been elected president of the Harbours Association.—(P.A.) Inspector G. E Twentyman, formerly in charge of the Upper Hutt Police Station will begin duties in the uniform branch ait the Christchurch Central Police Station on Monday. Sergeant J. P O'Kane, formerly of Greymouth, has begun duty at the Christchurch station.
