Sales tax collected in Christchurch In October fell £41.868. or 13.5 per cent, to £288,306. compared with October last year. Customs receipts were higher, however, and total revenue showed a decline of £20.600. Details are as follows: £ £ Customs & excise 838.775 615205 Tyres .. 756 124 1963 1962 Sales tax .. 268.306 310.195 Light dues .. 1.187 1.548 Miscellaneous .. 3.067 5.039 Total .. 9U.HI 982.11 l WELLINGTON Revenue collected by the Customs Department in Wellincton during October totalled £6.382.065, compared with £5,335.164 in October last year AUCKLAND Details are:— Customs, £1.067,843 (£904,767 last year); sales tax, £2.865.729 (£2330 888); motor spirit tax. £2.021.145 (£1.612.258): motor spirit duty. £256.653 (£230.128); tyre duty. £612 (£296). Customs revenue in Auckland during October totalled £3,178778. compared with £2,930,780 last year. The total for the 10 months of the year to date is £23.880.417. compared with £22.858,188 in 1962. October collections were:— Customs dues, £1.415.891 (£1.179.213 last year); tyre duty. £2270 (£429): sales tax. £1.188.581 (£1.053,818): other revenue £572,036 (£697,320).
