U.S. LEADS CUP TIE
Ralston’s Bad Temper (N Z.P.A. -Reuter— Copyright) BOMBAY. November 3 America seems certain to qualify to play Australia tn the 1963 Davis Cup challenge round at Adelaide judging by the form displayed yesterday in the intersone final against India. The Americans took an easy, 2-0 lead when C. McKinley and R. D. Ralston were untroubled to beat P. Lail and R. Kriehnan. The Wimbledon champion, McKinley. defeated Lail, 6-4. 6-3. 6-0. while Ralston beat Krishnan. 6-4. 6-1. 13-11. Ralston, although he displayed some of his bad moods and almost threw one game away with wild shots, was too strong for Krishnan. The Indian No. 1 was very disappointing. His courtwork was slow and he was often beaten by drops and placements from the American. Ralston hurled a water bottle on the ground and smashed It after losing five match points during the third set. The Americans should have no trouble in taking the doubles match today to clinch the series.
