Pension Dates

Sir,—The last day of payment in war pensions tor the year is December 18. Now that has been the case for something like 40 years. But this presents the problem, for January, is it to be the 16th, thus continuing the vaunted eradication of the anomalous extra days; or do we return to the "anomalous" in the hardest part of the year for all pensioners: meaning an extra week in accommodation charges.—Yours, etc., R. .M. THOMSON. October 29, 1963. [The district registrar of war pensions (Mr E. B. Pyne) said: “The war pension pay <|ay for December would have been the 26th but on account of the holidays it has been put forward to the 19th. The January pay day is the 23rd. If the correspondent prefers not to collect his December pension so far in advance, he may leave it until December 24. or even December 27, 1963.”]
