TOO YOUNG TO DRIVE
Boy Wins New Car
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. L
Thirteen-year-old Dennis Powley was slightly disappointed when he collected today the £920 car he won as first prize in a competition to guess the result of a vehicle economy run earlier this year.
He proudly received the ownership papers and the keys—and then handed the keys to his father. The shiny red and white car is his. but he is too young to drive it on the road.
Dennis had to take a passenger seat for the trip home, to Tikokino, in Hawke's Bay Not that be cannot drive. He drives the tractor and truck round the Powley’s 396acre farm.
Dennis hopes to get his driver’s licence when he turns 15—in February, 1965.
